Project 2, First Shoot
My initial proposal for project 2 is looking at a narrative that talks about opportunity and greed. It will comprise of images focusing on a subject who can have anything they want. This is portrayed through them being able to pull any object out of a picture they see. Is the sequence of images starts off, the person simply grabs small, and basic items such as food. The lighting starts off light where as the subject is still innocent and hasn't been drawn into taking whatever they want, though it darkens and so does the subjects appearance. This idea continues until the final image. The narrative has a moral, and that is don't take anything for granted. The final images will have the subject pulled into a picture (preferably a large painting or poster on a wall) and become part of it, showing the consequences of succumbing to greed.

Final Hand In Proposal...
Here it is, my final proposal for my final images I will be finally handing in.
My idea that I will be submitting looks at how we use emoticons through chat on social media websites and also on chat programs such as Skype and MSN. We use these to a degree that the person we are talking to can justify how we are feeling by a single icon. This is an indication to our emotions towards a sentence or word that is being displayed between the two or more people. As we are so familiar with this it is an everyday thing to see. It has come to the point that we just about hide behind these and let people determine the scale to which our happiness or anger is at... "digital identity".
My images use this idea and combine it with everyday life. My series looks at a person walking through a public area in a city and how they are feeling in a certain situation.
-The first image is of them in a normal everyday environment to them which is propelling no particular emotions.
-The second image has them sitting in front of a certain fast food outlet with a delicious burger in their hands, verging on to eating it. This emotion portrays a happy face which is indicating the mood they are in, letting the viewer to determine how happy they actually are about having a nice tasty burger to eat.
-The third image has the person at a position where they have just dropped the burger on the ground and are angry. Again this level of anger is to be determined by the viewer as emoticons only indicate the type of emotion.
-The forth image has the person walking down the street unhappy about their resent dilemma.

Emoti Masks
I have started to move away from the social mask idea and am now looking at how people use emoticons in social media and chat programs on the computer. We use these to express how we want someone else to see how we feel towards a comment we have typed or they have typed. It is the closest to showing an image of our emotions to that person to actually sending them a photo.
The emot'icon' is an icon which most people who use computers familiarise with towards other people. It represents many feelings that can be portrayed. When we see these we automatically match it to the comment and from that comment, can possibly determine what scale they are towards that certain emoticon sent.
eg. If someone was talking about how they won the lotto and they used the happy face emoticon, then it would be easy to determine that they are very happy, compared to someone who says "i had a really nice chocolate cake today". The use of the emoticon is just there to indicate the basics but it is how we initially indicate how we feel, along with extra information.
Here I have tested out how it would look in a couple of images (with no particular situation effecting the emotion).

Weird Flickr Group

This are a couple of weird flickr groups I have found. I chose them particularly because of the ideas behind the images and also the contents of them. The themes project from people putting up images of what they find weird and/or humorous. I find it interesting to see what people think weird and/or humorous is.
