These are test images for overlaying my lomography images. I have used techniques like blending, opacity change, and masking. The last image was mainly formed due to using the wrong setting on the camera and blending them together before they were processed. I thought it cam out well and works strongly with the overlaying idea.

Flickr Lomo Group
I have chosen this flickr group as it contains snap shot moments, the intent of lomophotography. The images are mainly taken quickly, not thinking of techniques, rather than to capture the moment instantly.

Project 3 - Lomographic Remediations
Three Lomography images:
To me this following image is portaying a split second moment of a persons thoughts. It is not looking into what the ferris wheel looks like, rather the atmosphere and experience of being there.
I am fond of this image because of the relaxing feeling it portrays as the sun is rising or setting. The mystery behind the chair propels the thought of a deaper meaning or story behind the image. I find that lomo images portray moments stronger with their high saturation of colour and grainier pictures.
The overlay techniques in this image have caught my eye, not because of the techniques used but rather the meaning behind it. The image is portraying how the possibility of the area becoming crowded by hinting it with the transparent people walking through. The idea of overlaying within the image needs to inhance the meaning behind it and strengthen the image.

Final Shoot
Here are my final images for project 2. These talk about bringing the idea of excessive advertising into reality and have them follow a person as they do in a mass spread culture at the moment. The first shot is situated within a room where the person is watching a television. As they are doing so the advertisements creep out from the screen. This is the start of the adverts crowding around the person.
The second image has been moved on to where the person is sitting at a park bench reading. The park should contain very small amounts of logos and advertisements as it is slightly out of reach of the stores. Though the formerly viewed adverts are still lingering around as they are well know and are seen anywhere. The book that is being read does contain adverts such as subscriptions and product purchase.
The third image is the person walking down a street as adverts jump out of posters on the wall. This is additional as the preveously viewed photos from each advert are kingering behind once again.
The forth image is of the person flushing the logos down a hole by pushing a big red button as they cannot stand them much longer. But as this happens, in the fith image the view of that same moment has been swivled around one hundred and eighty degrees to show a mass group of gathered logos and adverts that have gathered behind the person.
I feel that there is so much advertising that it cannot be forgotten about or hidden from and deleting it willonly make it appear.

Still in development series
Here is a shoot I have done that reveals this latest narrative:
The narrative behind this is talking about a person going through normal life activities while being hassled by non-stop advertisement. The first image consists of the person watching Television as the ads they are watching creeps into the room. The second is of them walking down the street as more adverts jump out of posters on the wall. The third image is where the person has now become completely sick of these logos and adverts flying around so they delete them as you would with Spam into an email address. Though the forth image is the same shot and time, there are more adverisements float up behind him explaining that adverts and logos will never go.

Black and White
As I have used Gregory Crewdsons work as a precedent I have still looked into other techniques of photography which I could combine with his style. Even though it is a very basic technique, black and white photos can take a viewer through an even deeper journey than a colour photo. I have taken note of a few images that make me take notice of the smaller details that are happening within the image, an event or object that can be clearly looked past without a thought if there were colours as a distraction.

Maurizio Polese
I am going to take away most of the colour in my images (not including the adeverts and logos) to get a stronger sense of the space and how it effects those within it.

Artist Presedent
The style of image I am looking at using to portray this narrative is shown by Gregory Crewdson. His images use well placed lighting to form a particular connection with the viewer. I am trying to gain this effect with less lighting as I have very little access to this sort of thing out side university.
Excessive Advertising
The idea of covering the effect advertising has on us can be quite powerful and can certainly make you think. After viewing the documentary "Art and Copy" by Doug Pray, I have taken a different angle on the power of advertising and its effect it can have on every day life. This has moved on from my previous idea of looking at how advertising effects greed and the consiquences behind it.
Here is the trailer for Art and Copy:

I have been looking at past techniques of advertising from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Wording and images have changed dramatically over the decades as people have realised that interests and modivation to take notice of advertisments has become minimal to those whose attention is trying to be captured.
Advertisements used to contain paragraphs and paragraphs as to why the product should be purchased. Today the advertisement has minimal wording and images of people, objects, etc that people like. The add might not always make sense but it must grab your attention to divert your eyes to the subject at bay.
Here are some examples of advertising that was during the 60s, 70s and 80s:
